Seem to be quality and the right size.

I own 2 pairs of Bearpaw Emma boots, both bought at department stores. I paid a very reasonable price for the boot. These are very common boots and easy to find in retail stores, online and right here on Amazon. They are also the most comfortable boots I have ever found. I could not previously find boots that fit me, but these fit perfectly. I am tempted to stock up on a few more pairs before this wonderful style gets discontinued, though they seem common enough where this will not happen for quite some time. Some other manufacturers charge more than double what I paid for a pair of these. These boots are the same quality as more expensive brands, but are higher quality than the ultra cheap brands you can find at stores like Walmart and Target.

Now the fit: These run VERY small, you definitely have to size up in them. I wear a size 11-12 and I definitely need the 12. I am SO happy that bearpaw makes these in a size 12 because I have run into countless pairs of boots that I could not buy because the size 11 was too small and there was no size 12. These have a size 12 so problem solved! With that being said the 12 in this Emma style fits me, but I have tried on other bearpaws in a 12 that were much smaller than these. I know Men's boots are an option but almost all Men's boots are extremely clunky and heavy so those don't work for me. But I am very grateful to have found at least one style that fits. The fit also seems to vary between pairs, so I strongly suggest buying them at a retail store or making sure the seller you buy from has free returns so you can return them if they do not fit. These are also the widest boot I have ever tried on, as a woman with a large wide foot I cannot describe how much I appreciate bearpaw making a design that is seemingly impossible to find from other manufacturers. It is true that these boots do not have any arch support at all, but that leaves a blank slate for making your own! If you find the boot is too hard on the inside the basic dollar store insoles work to add a bit more cushion. If you have a foot where you do not need extra arch support or just like the feeling of something that is totally flat then these will be for you. The toe on these is very tapered, so if you buy a size that is too small you will definitely feel it quickly in the toe area, even more so if you add insoles. But you should be able to add a thin insole like the dollar store insoles without causing any problems. The heel area does not cause any problems, there is no slipping of the heel or rubbing that is bothersome, a problem myself and other family members have found frequently with other boots. There are no seams in these boots or labels inside of the insole to irritate the feet, there is a seamed area on the heel but again, doesn't cause any problems at least for me.

These boots also keep your feet very warm, I have worn other shoes out in the cold weather and I have worn these on different days and I can definitely tell the difference, my feet are so much happier in the cold weather when they are kept warm by these boots!

I have tried the other sheepskin boots on by certain other manufacturers that charge double what bearpaw does, seriously, you can get 2 bearpaws for less than the price of the other brands.. if you don't need a certain label on your boots get these! These are also much more comfortable and the quality seems just as good as the other brands. Certain other brands I have found have a very hard sole that does not bend and I could not get my foot into them at all to even see how they feel. These slip on with ease and no struggle. The sole seems to be made out of a softer more flexible rubber than other brands that are rock hard. I have only had mine for a couple months but I have not had any quality issues such as glue peeling or shoes falling apart yet. I hear bearpaw has a great record of customer service and will replace faulty boots if they have a manufacturing defect and you can provide proof of purchase within a year. I live in the Northeast so these boots will be put to the test as we have plenty of bad weather. As far as slipping on ice I haven't had any issues with that yet that I did not have with any other boots or shoes. As far as I know no matter what kind of boots you have on if you are walking on ice yes, it will feel slippery.. that is obvious. The bottom is made of rubber so its not slippery, I see people prancing around in peg high heel boots all the time even when its icy out, so I can't think these would be any worse than walking with some of the boots that have rock hard slippery bottoms.

The first time I ordered these I had to send them back and get a size up because they were WAY TOO SMALL. Like my foot was squished and my calf was suffocated. I'm normally a size ten so I ended up getting these in a size 11 and they were way better. The calf was still a little tight though so if you don't have super skinny calves either then you may even want to go two sizes up. The packaging I received the boots in was terrible- like went through a shredder and survived terrible. I have a feeling it may have been because it wasn't through prime shipping when I got these? I don't know. I think in the description it tells you that these shoes will stretch- they don't - what you feel is what you get, so make sure they feel good. My boots are still in really good quality and I have worn them periodically over the last few months and they've held up really well. They are super cute too so I'm overall happy that I got them.

I'm a recent convert to this style of shoe, but I work in a really casual office that's FREEZING and needed something comfortable and warm - these are so perfect, they're my new favorite winter boot. Suede is great quality, as is the Sherpa lining.

Sizing Note: I've read many reviews that stated they got the shoe way too big, and others recommending that you go to Bearpaw's website to figure out the correct size - both of those points are incorrect. Bearpaw recommends sizing 1-2 sizes UP because of the thick lining of the shoe - I believe that's why people are mistakenly ordering the wrong size.

I went with another reviewer who suggested to order a size down because the lining will pack in around your foot and you'll end up with more room - so thankful for that suggestion - I'm a 6.5, ordered a 6 - the first few days of wear, yes the shoes were tight - but sure enough the lining has packed inside and they now fit perfectly - there's actually enough room for me to put an insert in these so I have more arch support.
